Who am I?

As a dynamic business professional with a diverse background, and I bring a unique perspective to the world of UX/UI design. With a Master's degree in Business Administration and a successful track record in management roles for both large and small retailers, as well as experience in consumer lending, private banking, and financial advising, I have honed a wide range of skills that have positioned me as a versatile problem solver.

  • Firstly, I worked on a fitness app and introduced a captivating messaging feature infused with elements of gamification and personalization. This innovative addition not only fostered communication among users, but also motivated them to achieve their fitness goals through friendly challenges and rewards. Secondly, I conducted a thorough sprint case study, focusing on enhancing the structure of cooking instructions within a cooking app. By carefully analyzing user feedback and conducting usability tests, I reimagined the information architecture and streamlined the steps, making it easier for users to follow recipes and navigate the app effortlessly. Lastly, I undertook an in-depth case study on the hiring process, recognizing a significant time waste in scheduling interviews and assessing candidates. Drawing insights from extensive research, I devised a user-centric design solution that enabled applicants to submit assessments and schedule interviews seamlessly, effectively minimizing unnecessary delays. Through these projects, I demonstrated my proficiency in creating intuitive and engaging user experiences, addressing pain points, and optimizing workflow efficiency.

  • I also had the opportunity to contribute to a team project focused on redesigning the website for Waggle, an AI co-pilot platform that assists managers in optimizing team performance. Our goal was to leverage untapped data, behavioral science learnings, and management best practices to provide managers with actionable guidance on what to do and when to do it. As part of the team, I played a significant role in implementing gamification elements, creating a user persona to guide our design decisions, and conducting user testing to ensure a seamless user experience.

During the project, we conducted thorough research and analysis to understand Waggle's target audience and their needs. By developing a detailed persona, we were able to empathize with the users and design a website that catered to their preferences and requirements. We identified a key area for improvement in the website's user engagement, specifically in driving users to the calendar page where they could access valuable features and functionalities. To address this, we collaborated closely as a team to redesign the website with a clear call to action, ensuring that users were prompted to visit the calendar page and explore the platform further.

  • a dynamic Start Up. My role primarily involves actively engaging in user testing, a pivotal aspect of our design process. I've been instrumental in both leading and supporting these testing initiatives. More specifically, I've taken charge of collating and comprehending the data we've gathered, employing thematic analysis techniques. This strategic approach has allowed me to distill valuable insights from the feedback received. By utilizing affinity mapping, I've successfully identified certain minor concerns within the user experience. Currently, I'm collaborating closely with the director to address these concerns. As a proactive step, we're orchestrating new user testing sessions, with a particular focus on refining the process of first-time account creation. This endeavor aligns with our overarching objective of enhancing user satisfaction and minimizing drop-off rates.

  • Throughout my first contract role, I performed crucial tasks while adhering to the obligations of a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA). While I can't disclose specific details, I can share examples of UX design behaviors I executed during my time there. This includes conducting observations and interviews in users' natural environments, leading prioritization sessions with stakeholders, devising varied solutions to discovered issues, and implementing user surveys and design assessments. These actions were instrumental in shaping a user-centered approach and improving overall user experience.

  • I am a devoted husband, father, leader, mentor, avid reader, and fitness enthusiast. Just like my name, "Clay," suggests, I am moldable and possess a natural ability to adapt seamlessly to new challenges and environments.
