You were hired as a freelance UX designer by a company making a new mobile maps app. They would like you to start sketching out general concepts for this app. They want to look into things like page layouts and get some rough ideas to start showing stakeholders and potential users.

Scenario #1

Task

Create three wireframes for this maps app showing: (1) the homepage (what users land on when they open up the app on their phones), (2) what searching for a new location looks like, and (3) the interface for giving the user real-time driving directions.

Action I Took

1. **Clear and Clean Layout:** The first frame is simple and clear. No extra stuff to confuse you. Just what you need and nothing more, like a tidy desk with only the essentials.

2. **Easy Words, No Jargon:** I used simple words that everyone can understand. No fancy language or confusing tech talk. It's like talking to a friend, not a computer.

3. **Flexible and Easy to Use:** This design can adapt to different needs. It's like a comfy pair of jeans that fits everyone. You can use it easily, just the way you like.

Scenario #2

You were hired as a freelance UX designer by a local small chain restaurant. They would like you to start sketching out general concepts for their expediting screen as they get away from paper orders on the line. They want to look into things like how they can tell lunch orders from breakfast orders for example. They want a rough idea to show the owner of the business.

Task

Create one wireframe for this expeditor stand showing: (1) difference between breakfast and lunch orders, (2) what do side, extras, and orders without items look like, and (3) what do large orders and remakes look like.

Action I Took

1. **Keep it consistent:** A light blue and purple show the difference between breakfast and lunch. Adding numbers to align the orders helps with spacing and is assumed to be easier to train. Need to see if possible the menu could have breakfast as 1-9 and lunch is 10-20. No extra stuff to confuse you.

2. **Plain Language:** Keep the sides in a gray color then have a yellow for add, and then finally a red alert color for without.

3. **Show information in ways users understand:** A large order will continue over to the next screen and the alert to end a order is the statement β€œEnd of Order.” A remake will have a red outline to alert the expeditor to let them know the urgency of the order.
